One of the greatest joys in my life is sharing my passion for art with others.As an educator, I believe in empowering all levels of artists, in guiding those to create their own interpretations through various media, and in uplifting the creative voices of the next generation.
It seems all too easy for growing artists to be stifled today. In a world that turns passion, care, and creativity into commodities, it's crucial for our youth to be given the freedom to express their voice.Their interests, their feelings, and their dreams must have a place to grow and space to thrive.
I strive to build a classroom environment that provides a supportive space, a creative challenge, and the motivational push that allows my students to be their authentic artistic selves.
About Me
Hey! I'm Zak Todd, a Denver-based Animator, Artist, and Arts Educator with a love for interactive art in motion. I love to make fun, introspective characters and living worlds for them to thrive in.Originally from Mobile, AL, I studied Animation and Sculpture at the University of South Alabama, receiving my BFA in 2020. For three years, I taught summer camp design courses, designed and painted Mardi Gras floats, and freelanced. In 2023, I started an internship at the Mobile Arts Council, and joined Amp Up Arts Alabama as a teaching artist. In 2024, I moved to Denver, CO and accepted the role of Youth Art Mentorship Facillitator at RedLine Contemporary. October 2025 marks the start of my second year with the program.
My work spans multiple media in multiple dimensions. 2D animation, 3D design, paint, charcoal, and ink.I love to write comedic, introspective stories with visual gags, paranormal design, and impactful narratives. I enjoy mixing 3D elements with hand-drawn 2D animation.My work is greatly inspired by the films, cartoons, and video games of my upbringing. Ghostbusters, Ben 10, Avatar: the Last Airbender, Danny Phantom... and so much more.Drop me a line if you want to collab!
